Healthstat Announces National Virtual Mental Health Solution

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Healthstat, Inc., a leading provider of onsite, nearsite, shared and virtual employer-sponsored health centers, announced today the nationwide availability of its new virtual mental health solution, Ment4Me, as part of its VirtualCare Platform. Ment4Me is a comprehensive virtual solution that enables employers to improve access to high quality mental health services for employees seeking support for treatable mental health conditions, wherever and whenever needed. Integrated into Healthstat’s existing primary care model, Ment4Me helps to reduce the self-perceived stigma often associated with mental illness, promotes a resilient workforce and helps employers avoid the health and productivity impacts of treatable mental health conditions common in the workplace.

Ment4Me closes the gaps in mental health care by providing access to ongoing professional services through a multi-faceted approach. Its three core services include:

  • Artificial Intelligence – Tess, the mental health chatbot, offers on-demand support to 13 million people. A randomized control trial by Northwestern University measured by 37,000 interactions showed a 90% satisfaction rate as individuals learned ways to boost resilience and cope with daily stressors, such as COVID-19, that lead to depression, anxiety, burnout and loneliness. The research also showed that conversations with Tess contributed to a reduction in symptoms of depression by 13% and symptoms of anxiety by 18% in just two weeks.
  • Triage Support Line – Staffed by a highly qualified team of care coordinators and licensed clinical personnel, the triage line provides immediate support in a virtual environment. Crisis follow-up is provided to connect individuals to appropriate resources, including escalation to a virtual visit with a provider, as needed. Notable outcomes of this contact center include a 98% average client satisfaction score, 98% appointing accuracy rate for those who need an appointment and 98.5% quality audit score. Over the past five years, the contact center has helped more than one million unique clients.
  • Integration of Primary Care and Behavioral Health – Healthstat has a team of licensed clinical social workers, psychiatrists and psychologists who serve as an extension of existing health center staff. These mental health professionals schedule virtual care visits directly on the Ment4Me platform using Healthstat’s electronic medical record (EMR), ensuring continuity of care and coordination of patient record systems. Access to this service has proven to decrease wait times and no-show rates, while increasing number of employees served, patient satisfaction and reported adherence to medication.

“One in five U.S. adults are affected by mental illness, yet studies show half of adults with depression, stress and substance use disorders don’t get the treatment they need,” said Crockett Dale, CEO of Healthstat. “Our virtual mental health solution makes these critical services more accessible to employees, which is especially important when facing challenges of social isolation, economic stress and uncertainty during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
